THE DUBOIS BOIS

My pal “Ma Ray”, a gem of an English teacher from rural Idaho, gave me a holler and asked if I’d drop in remotely to help inspire her small poetry class of young roustabouts to write, and we ended up rockin’ some righteous rhymes.

What started as a single visit, turned into me hanging in class for a couple of months intermittently. I gave the fellers a crash course in hip hop history, put some pep in their step, and we put pen to paper. I cooked ‘em up a beefy beat, we rehearsed a smidge, and ending up recording the song in one day remotely...using a simple phone voice memo app. These timid tenderfoots are now boastin’ bonafide MCs, G.
